When partnering with Mountain Strategies, your organization will gain a team member with deep experience in parks, recreation, trail and open space planning along with a background in municipal operations and finance. Scott Robson is a veteran of the parks and recreation profession and has served as the Director of the City of Denver Parks and Recreation Department, one of the largest in North America with over 500 staff and system that includes over 20,000 acres of city and mountain parks, 30 recreation centers and 7 golf courses. There, he was intimately involved in planning, design and budgeting for a broad range of initiatives and responsibility for a $50M annual budget.
In addition to his work in urban environments, Robson implemented innovative programs and capital projects as the Director of Parks, Recreation & Open Space with the City of Louisville, Colorado and as the Executive Director of the Evergreen Park & Recreation District in the foothills of Denver after beginning his career with the National Park Service.
As a lead planner with the National Park Service, Scott Robson led public input process and planning with interdiciplinary teams to develop 20-year General Management Plans (GMP’s) for Parks that ranged from Golden Gate National Recreation Area to Saguaro National Park in Tucson, AZ and Abraham Lincoln’s Home in Springfield, IL.
