About Scott Robson

Born and raised in Colorado and based in Crested Butte, Scott Robson brings over 25 years of local government and nonprofit leadership experience to organizations in need of a partner to help solve their most challenging issues.

Over a diverse career, Scott has built a reputation for his ability to navigate complex government process with political acumen, develop organizational strategies and lead community initiatives and events. Scott’s career includes years of service as the Town Manager of two of North America’s iconic mountain destinations, Vail and Telluride, Colorado where he developed unique insights into government affairs, managing public process, drafting innovative policies and forging unique public/private partnerships. Robson has managed municipal organizations with more than 350 employees and budgets exceeding $110 million annually along with 501(c)3 nonprofits focused on outdoor education, arts and culture.

His notable experience also includes leadership in the nonprofit and outdoor industry as the CEO of the historic Colorado Mountain Club, Executive Director of The Civic Center Park Conservancy, and a former cabinet member of Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and Mayor Guillermo "Bill" Vidal serving as Manager of the Denver Parks & Recreation Department, one of the largest and most diverse urban & mountain park systems in North America.

Robson additionally built exceptional experience in community and government relations early in his career while working with local and federally elected officials as a lead planner with the National Park Service based out of the NPS Planning headquarters in Denver, Colorado. There he served on interdisciplinary teams and led planning efforts in some of the country’s great parks that ranged from Golden Gate National Recreation Area to Saguaro National Park, Abraham Lincoln’s Home, and many other iconic National Parks across the US.

A lifelong athlete and conservation advocate with a particular love for mountains around the world, Scott has been able to mesh his love for the outdoors and family with a notable professional career. During his career, which has included leading professional exchanges to ski resort communities in the Alps, Robson has gained a reputation for his ability to help navigate complex political landscapes and work collaboratively with boards of directors, elected officials, artists, athletes, corporations and the general public on everything from hot button political issues to world class special events.

Scott Robson earned his Graduate Degree from the University of Oregon’s School of Planning, Public Policy & Management and a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Environmental Design at the University of Colorado, Boulder. When not playing in the mountains with friends and family, Scott might be heard on-air DJ’ing for local public radio or at basically any live music, outdoor sport or film event he can get to.
